In this section is a wealth of information for all Junior and Youth coaches for Western Springs AFC.

The objective for the club is to have good playing experiences for all players. This is a quite a challenge as players needs and expectations vary through age groups and by level of competition. One route to achieve this goal is to invest in players through their team coach.

To this end the club has developed several coach development plans and some coaching resources that you may find useful.

There are separate sections depending on the age of the players you are coaching:

Junior Coaches 6-7th Grade
Junior Coaches 8-10th Grade
Youth Social 11th to 13th Grade
Youth Competitive 11th to 13th Grade


Within each of these sections you will find 3 main areas of information.

Coaching and Managing provides general information about coaching and managing teams.
Techniques, Skills and Rules provides specific technical information relevant to the skills and techniques you should be coaching your players.
Session Plans provides information about planning coaching sessions, and where we can, we have supplied some coaching plans that you can use or adapt.
