|
|
This Saturday 24th May the Young Football Ferns take on Central Utd at Auckland City's home Kiwitea Street Stadium. Kick off is 2.30pm in Sandringham and there will be plenty of action for all spectators. The FIFA World Cup Roadshow will be present, handing out prizes, giving our info on the world cup and selling tickets for the event. Some members of the team will take on some fans in a crossbar challenge at half time as well as the famous Kiwitea Street steak sandwiches on sale in the clubrooms. Central Utd currently lead the 15th Grace Boys Metro league so the Young Football Ferns will be up against the toughest challenge yet this season. 2008 Trials and Preseason
|
|
All draws for 10 grades and above have been posted on the Auckland Federation Website.
to access these draws
go to www.aucklandfootball.org.nz
Then on the side panel click on fixtures and results.
You can click on fixtures by team or fixtures by club.
Personally I prefer fixtures by club as I can get all the teams (or all my own kids teams)at once.
Enter the date - I tend to put the monday of the week of the draw I want eg for next weeks games on 5th April I put in 31 March
Whether you go in with fixtures by club or team please remember to put in Western Springs.
Please remember to check back on a Friday evening or Saturday morning or both, to make sure that the ground and time have not changed.
If your team doesn't as yet have a team name, you will find the name of your coach is the team name for now. To get this changed coaches or managers need to contact me.
Hope you all enjoy the season, if there is anything I can help with please give me a call or email.
Joanne Powell
Chairperson
PS - PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE
Make sure someone in your team rings in the correct score to me on a Saturday afternoon.

Final Results
|
|
The Premier Women put on a brave display against Lynn Avon before subcumbing 3-0 in the second half, and will be seeking revenge next year in the Knock Out Cup and this weekend in the Northern League. While the on-field result went against Springs, the off field battle was clearly won by the Springs supporters bedecked in green and white.
Later in the afternoon though, the Division 1 Springs team demolished Uni Mount 4-2 in the their Knockout Cup final. Congratulations to Bruce Dobbs and his team.

WSAFC 9th Grade Rep Teams
|
|
Two 9th grade rep teams played in the Clendon United AFC's 8th/9th grade tournament last weekend at Manurewa. Both teams made it through to their respective pool finals. Rep A played in the 'Championship' final, coming second to East Coast Bays with their only loss of the tournament. Rep B played in the 'Plate' final but unfortunately lost to Three Kings. Both teams had to go through penalty shoot-outs on their way to their finals, which they both lost in extra time (golden goal). Despite the variable weather, the teams had a great day and did themselves (and not to mention the attending adults) very proud - congratulations 9th Rep A and B!
