On October 4th and 5th, Tauranga City AFC hosted a tournament for Women’s Football, with teams coming from across the North Island. Several strong division one sides from Auckland’s, Force 3’s and United Football’s comps would need to be overcome in order for the Missfits to prevail. In the qualifying round they beat previous winners Takapuna, last years winners Tauranga, as well as Forest Hill and Bay Olympic. Sunday saw the start of the knock rounds and first up the Missfits put away Lynn Avon. The semi-final went to penalties with Te Atatu and then they beat Hibiscus Coast 3-0 in the final.
