Just two days after Lynn Avon and Western Springs met in the SWANZ Cup Final they clashed horns again in league action at Murdoch Park, Papatoetoe on Wednesday evening. Lynn Avon were looking for three points and push Three Kings all the way in their title quest while Springs were looking for some revenge after their defeat in the cup final.

Springs were back into action after a week off due to the National Secondary Schoolgirls Tournaments. Every player in the squad bar Pam Yates and Penny Chapman had been representing their school during the week tracking up nine games in five days and with just a day to rest the players were back into action with sore muscles from head to toe.
